Copenhagen, Denmark!

And so it has arrived, Thanksgiving week!Depending upon how early of a start they wished to get, there's a good chance Dad, Mom, and the boys are already on their way up to the beautiful state of Missouri. Last year Grandma, Papa, Aunt Jackie, Uncle Bruce, Matthew, Marie, and Leah all came to Alabama for Thanksgiving so this year is our turn to visit them. Although I love being home on Thanksgiving, there's nothing more idyllic than spending the holiday at Grandma's farm in Eldon, Missouri. It's been hard getting in touch with Grandma since I've gotten back from Copenhagen so I know she's been busy getting everything ready for when everyone arrives!I'm picturing her cooking up a storm while the fire burns, the cats scamper all over the furniture, and jazz music blares from the stereo to the wooden pillars of the old farmhouse. I'm there in spirit Grandma! As of right now, I am sitting in my little, dim flat as my jet lagged cousin Allie tries to get some sleep. She got in at 6:50 a.m. and needless to say it's been a rough morning. Both our credit cards somehow don't work. Considering banks in America are still closed due to the time difference, it was quite a struggle to get back to my flat from Paddington station with no cash. Thank goodness for the kind bus driver who let Allie on without paying. Anyways, with Allie asleep I thought this would be a prime time to catch up on my Copenhagen blog. As of now, I have been to Corfu, Greece, Alicante, Spain, Edinburgh Scotland, and now Copenhagen Denmark. I have one last trip to Paris in which Claire, and I will be taking the train the first weekend of December. Of all the cities I've been to, I'd have to say that Copenhagen was my favorite!Knowing very little about it, I was pleasantly surprised to find how beautiful the architecture was, how friendly the people were, and how beautiful Danish men can be!Miraya, Geoff, Kara and I left Thursday afternoon and got in around 8.
Miraya and Geoff in Gatwick Airport
Kara needed her McDonald's before the flight
And we made it!

Copenhagen Airport=Coolest Airport Ever. There's an H&M, Burberry, and Lacoste...just to name a few
Our hostel! It was right in downtown Copenhagen. Good job finding it Geoff!
My bed for our three night stay

The longest pedestrian shopping market in Europe

Geoff's Danish Christmas Rice Custard something dessert. If you find an almond, you get a present. Geoff found one and got a free beer!
My dessert...I just needed chocolate
The next morning we got up around 10. This is the market street during the day
Miraya in one of the numerous 7/11's of Copenhagen
We found this place walking by the University. I love that tree!
I loved it so much that I did a cheesy Senior pic with it

Copenhagen is getting ready for Christmas!
A gnome shaped baking pan?I think yes!
Miraya with her future ham and cheese crepe
The Palace, or Palace Gardens
My epic fail at getting the air shots of the three of them
Fail #2...sadly we spent a good ten minutes trying to get good shots of us in the air
Kara clearly has a talent for taking this kind of pictures

Our sad attempt of a "candid" shot of my walking in the park
Miraya and Geoff enjoying the Copenhagen autumn
How old are we again?

Palace Playground
Yet again, how old are we?

Kara and I spent the last day exploring
Kara read the map as well
Kara and my last dinner. Our flight left at 9 that night. After we ate, it was straight to the airport.

Copenhagen airport=Coolest airport ever.
We ended up getting back to London around 10:30ish. Customs was the longest I'd ever seen it. We waited in line for a good hour. After, we realized the train from Stanstead to central London was down. So we had to take the bus. After the bus dropped us off at Marlybone, I had to find the 205 back to Old Street. It was around 2 when I got back to my flat. Thankfully I had completed my Psychology presentation that was due the next day!Copenhagen was amazing. The people, the architecture, and the culture make it one of the most unique places I've ever gone. I hope to visit again some day. I only have one more trip left....Paris!
