So I really know I should be blogging about Greece right now, but before I do that, I wanted to make sure to blog about my exciting last Wednesday! As I have already previously blogged, the BFI Film Festival(British Film Festival) took place the last two weeks in Leceister Square. All the stars walked the red carpet as they showcased their new critically acclaimed movies. After waiting outside for
The Ides of March in which case I saw George Clooney, Evan Rachel Wood, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Ron Howard, I tried my best to get into more of the premiers. I managed to get tickets to George Clooney's
The Descendants. I saw
Trishna, a deeply depressing movie starring Freida Pinto. I also previously mentioned seeing the small indie film
Terry with Miraya. All of them were outstanding. I thought I had seen enough premiers until I heard that there was a chance I could get in to see
A Dangerous Method starring Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen, and Michael Fassbender(my new celebrity crush after seeing
Jane Eyre last spring). So yes, I was the girl who went and waited at 4 in the afternoon to get into an 8:00 showing of my celebrity crush's premier. Although my chances were looking slim very that there would be enough or any standby tickets at all, I patiently waited three hours to make sure. Thankfully my friend Molly accompanied me after she got out of her class. Time went by much quicker with her there. At approximately 7:10, we finally were at the the front of the line. The people previously before us had bought tickets from random people selling tickets outside. There was still a chance we might not get in. Suddenly a man walked around the corner and asked where the front of the line was. Molly and I shot our hands up. He then sold us two front row center tickets to the premier for the original price. Apparently, he has been a member of the BFI Film Festival for 18 years. He had a job interview the next day and wanted to head home early. He just wanted to give the tickets away to two people who appreciated them....I'm pretty sure he could tell we definitely appreciated them. So at around 7:45, Molly and I walked down the red carpet while passing Viggo Mortensen on my right and Michael Fassbender on my left. Keira still had not made her way down the carpet yet. Afterwards, we enjoyed our complimentary chocolate bars and water inside the theatre as we waited for the stars, director, screenwriter, producer, and composer to get on stage. We got the special privilege of seeing the cast and crew twice on stage during the premier. The first time, they each gave some background on the movie. The second time was a question and answer session. Although I had every intention of asking Michael Fassbender a question, my nerves got the best of me when time it was finally time. Needless to say, it was one of the more thrilling experiences I've had in London since I've been here. All this talk about the premier, and I haven't even discussed the movie yet. It was excellent. It ended much lighter than what I had previously thought. I don't want to give away too much so I'll just put the link up for the trailer.

The view from our seats. I refused to take pictures of the cast and crew when they were on stage. I had to remain as cool as possible in case there was some chance I would either a.) Be friends with one of them or b.) Marry one of them
